Working with Symphonic Orchestra

Enrich, educate and entertain

Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra has been performing classical orchestral music in Lincoln, Nebraska since it was founded in 1927 with a mission to enrich, educate and entertain current and potential audiences through the performance and advancement of symphonic music. With a professional ensemble of more than 65 musicians, the orchestra performs nine concerts each year (with classical, family, and pops concerts) in its home at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. Edward Polochick, winner of the Leopold Stokowski Conducting Award, has been Music Director of LSO since 1998, and has guided the orchestra through a critical period of artistic growth, including the commissioning of seven new works for the orchestra, a move to a new venue, and an affordable ticket price initiative that resulted in an audience size that more than doubled.
